Our Vision
Our vision is to create a unified, welcoming space where Veteran organizations come together under one roof to provide comprehensive support, services, and community for those who have served. This building will stand as a beacon of collaboration and honor, celebrating the diverse experiences and sacrifices of veterans, while fostering a strong sense of belonging. Through shared resources and a collective mission, we aim to empower Veterans, uplift their families, and create lasting positive change in their lives and communities.
Our Mission
Our mission is to unite Veteran-focused organizations in a single, collaborative space to enhance the quality of services and support for Veterans and their families. By fostering cooperation and sharing resources, we strive to provide holistic care that addresses the physical, emotional, and social needs of Veterans. Through this joint effort, we aim to honor their sacrifices, celebrate their contributions, and create a thriving community that empowers Veterans to lead fulfilling lives during and after their service.

Chair

Mike is a local entrepreneur, former Air Force officer, and has held various leadership positions in the American Legion, DCVMF, and Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce. He has served as an HHF board member since 2024.
Chris Maes

Board Member - Douglas County Veterans Service Office

Chris is the Director, Douglas County Veteran Service Office, a retired Command Sergeant Major, and retired Regional HR Director. He has served as an HHF board member since 2024.
Richard Dixon

Board Member Ex-Officio - Veteran At Large

Rich leads our local American Legion and VFW motorcycle groups, a former Soldier and GWOT Veteran. He is very active in various Veterans causes. He has been an HHF board member since 2024.
George Teal

Vice-Chair

George is a Douglas County Commissioner and former member of the Castle Rock Town Council. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1988 as an 11B Rifleman and ended his military service as an Infantry Officer with the 25th Infantry Division. Between his time in the military and elected service he worked in the software industry in corporate and entrepreneurial endeavors. He has served as an HHF board member since 2024.

Board Member - Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation

Kris is the Secretary of the Board of the Douglas County Veterans Monument Foundation, and a local businessman. He has been an HHF board member since 2024.

Laura is Parker Town Council Member, a retired Army Colonel from the United States Army Reserves, Judge Advocate General's Corp. She currently has her own law practice in Wills/Trusts/Estates. She has been an HHF board member since 2024.

Larry is a former Soldier and Vietnam Veteran who has served our community in various roles in many organizations for decades. He has served as an HHF officer since 2024.

Dave is the Commander of our local American Legion post and an Airforce Veteran. He also retired from Federal Civil Service with 25 years of combined service. He has been an HHF board member since 2024.

Board Member - Veterans of Foreign Wars

Brian served in the US Army as an infantryman. He currently serves as the Sr. Vice Commander for the Max W Donahue VFW Post 12230 right here in Castle Rock. Brian has over 15 years of federal service and looks forward to continuing serving Veterans.
